What we do

Six areas of live production, from gallery to stage

flairuni covers the technical and practical side of live television. We wire studio control rooms, crew cameras, treat rooms for sound, light sets and stages, and plan the workflow that holds a live show together. Each service can be booked alone or combined.

  1. Studio Equipment Integration

We design and wire vision mixers, routing, monitoring and intercom into one dependable studio control room.

  2. Camera Operation and Direction

Experienced camera crews and directors for interviews, news bulletins, concerts and festival stages.

  3. Acoustic Treatment and Audio

Room treatment, microphone placement and mixing so speech and live music sound clean on air.

  4. Lighting Design and Setup

Lighting plots for studio sets and stages that suit the cameras and keep presenters looking natural.

  5. Live Production Workflow Planning

Run sheets, rehearsal schedules and backup plans so a live show runs to time with fewer surprises.

  6. Concert and Festival Broadcast

Multi-camera coverage of stage events with outside broadcast kit and a small, practised crew.

Tell us about the venue, the format and the date, and we will suggest which services you need and which you can cover yourselves.

Services

How we approach every production

  1. Reliability

A live show only gets one take. We test signal paths, agree backup plans and rehearse the awkward moments, so the equipment and the crew behave on the day as they did in the run-through.

  2. Clear workflows

Run sheets, cue lists and roles are written down and shared before anyone arrives. Everyone in the gallery and on the floor knows who calls what and when.

  3. Craft

Careful framing, clean audio and lighting that flatters the presenter come from experience and attention to detail. We would rather fix a small problem in rehearsal than explain it afterwards.

Why work with us

What clients can expect from a project

Every project is planned around your format, venue and budget. These are the practical things we focus on, so that the day itself feels controlled.

  • Integrated studio kit

Vision mixer, routing, monitoring and intercom are designed as one system. Callum draws the signal chain before any cable is run.

  • Small, practised crew

Camera operators, directors and engineers who have worked together before. Fewer handovers means clearer communication in the gallery.

  • Written run sheets

Every show has a run sheet and a rehearsal schedule. You see them ahead of time and can change them before the day.

  • Backup plans

We plan for a failed link, a dead radio mic or a late guest. The fallback is agreed in advance, not improvised.

  • Clean sound on air

Room treatment, microphone placement and a careful mix keep speech clear and live music balanced for broadcast.

  • Lighting that suits cameras

Plots are built around the cameras in use, so presenters look natural and sets read well on screen.

  • Outside broadcast capable

For concerts and festivals we bring outside broadcast kit and a compact crew to cover a stage with several cameras.

  • Plain communication

One contact from first enquiry to final wrap, with written quotations and a clear account of what is included.

Questions people ask first

Here are straight answers to the things most clients want to know before getting in touch. If yours is missing, the contact page is the quickest route.

  1. Who do you usually work with?

Our clients are broadcasters, venues, event organisers and production companies planning live television work. That includes news programmes, interviews, concerts and festival stages. Some have an established studio and need help with a specific area, others are starting from an empty room.

  2. Can we hire just one service, such as lighting?

Yes. Each service stands on its own, and many clients ask only for lighting design, acoustic treatment or a camera crew. When services are combined, one team plans them together, which usually makes the day easier to run.

  3. Do you work outside Inverness?

Our base is Inverness, and we travel for concerts, festivals and studio projects. Travel and accommodation are discussed when we agree the scope, and they appear as a separate line in the written quotation.

  4. What do you need from us at the start?

A short description of the show, the venue, the date and who will be on screen is enough. Floor plans, existing equipment lists and past run sheets help if you have them. We ask for anything else as we go.

  5. Do you supply the equipment?

For outside broadcasts we bring our own kit. For studios we design and integrate systems, and we can work with equipment you already own. What is supplied and what is not is written into the quotation.

  6. How does a live show stay on time?

Through planning. A run sheet with timings, a rehearsal schedule and agreed cues give the director something to work to. We also build in contingency for the usual delays.

  7. How is the work priced and paid for?

After an enquiry we send a written quotation. Once you confirm it, we invoice and payment is by bank transfer. Prices and the cancellation terms are set out on the Prices page.

  8. Can you help if our studio already exists?

Yes. We often review an existing control room, find where signal paths or monitoring cause trouble and fix those parts. Callum looks at the current set-up first, then proposes only the changes that are needed.
